I know there is another thread about it..just wanted to share my personal experience with Sonarworks VoiceAI plugin.
Having spent several days with it. I've concluded it's a game changer. I used it on a vocal I recorded on a song I wrote for a female singer I'm producing. Changed my voice to female so the singer could better relate to the song.
The results..."almost" good enough for a keeper track. More than good enough for the girl singer to listen to and learn from.
For background vocals I recorded, VoiceAI was so good at changing those into female voices. I don't need to hire female vocalists for the backup vocals now.
Fortunately, I have a decent voice and can sing. I routinely tune and process vocals with Melodyne, and I highly recommend that before putting VoiceAI to work, as it does not tune or level
out vocals, cut out any noise, or "fix" sibilance or bum notes. The cleaner and more in tune your vocal sounds, the better the results with VoiceAI.
It isn't just for gender-bending. If you want to sound like a better singer of the same gender as you, you can do that with VoiceAI.
I'm not sure how the plugin works. I can say this..it's not for producers or creatives who can't sing. If you cannot sing, this isn't your plugin.
It does exactly what I want it to do. I bought Dreamtonics Synthi V plugin thinking that would do what VoiceAI does, but Synthi V ended up removed from my computer because it does not. And Synthi V is way more expensive than Voice AI.
In any event, I cannot recommend VoiceAI strongly enough. The product lives up to the hype. If you are interested in it, get the "Perpetual" version which does not require cloud connection or pay-as-you-use "tokens", it's all done on your computer, and in fact saves you money in the long run.
