I upped a funny song on my FaceBook page - and boom, 600 friend requests a week from people I never heard of. How one handles this correctly?

On one hand, the interest is flattering, one the other hand, what if these are all just crypto salespeople, OnlyFans models and such. Even if I presume that they are real people, bona fide touched by the song, 600 new friends every week will quickly drown out updates from the 300 true FB connections I have since years if I just accept every friend request.

OK, I could make a separate FaceBook musician/band page. But then if I post my music there from now, my circle of friends on my personal page will miss that stuff. What is the proper way to deal with this?

I have a personal page and a "band" page.
My personal page only has friends that I have broken bread with in person. Which means mostly family, a few neighbors, and musicians I jam with - people I know off-line and know well. I don't seek people to be friends. They have to find me.

My commercial page or band page can have as many followers as they want. I can easily remove them if needed.

I never post music to my personal page. Only to my music page. People know I am a musician. If they want to hear my stuff, then can follow my music page. I'll simply announce to the 50 or so people that a new song is up and to follow my page.

I did this because of the same reason as you - had the max number of "friends" on my personal, and I really only knew about 200 of them offline... and it became a problem, and due to my relationship with a label, created some issues where lawyers and police had to get involved (credible threats of violence to me and my family)

Easy solution: stay off the sewer that is facebook

Seems like very reasonable approach, I did the music page, explained to everyone to send me FB friend requests for music from there.

I got HUNDREDS of friend requests since then. 100% from my personal page. Not ONE from the music page. People just don't listen. Now what?

Just ignore them. You said it yourself, most of the requests will probably be bots and general nonsense, and the rest are people who don’t pay attention and just want to expand their own reach in the sewer that is social media.
