Good for you. You stuck with it longer than I did. I quit after about 10 years into it. I don't regret it. I quite to start a family and am very happy to have done it. Go knows what I would be today if I didn't.

It is never too late to start something new. I am 50 and I just finished my masters degree. I am in the process of chilling and debating whether I want to go do a PhD or just screw around for the next 10 years of my work life. As far as career change goes, a lot comes down to expectations on your part. If you are realistic about who you are what what you are in the marketplace. Meaning, if you are new and just starting out, regardless of how old you are, you need to be aware you will be starting at the low entry level of the salary grid. Its unrealistic to expect to be getting paid top $'s as a new person in the industry, whatever industry it is. I am sure there are lots of jobs and careers out there that do not require someone to sit indoors and stare at a screen.
Good luck
