Correct. All my I/O goes into a pair of Ferrofish Pulses, before going into an RME Digiface over TOSLink/ADAT. It's the Pulses doing all the conversion both in or out.
Analog comes in to the Pulse, it converts to digital and sends to the RME. Audio going out from the computer, the digital stream gets sent by the RME to the Pulse, which then converts it to analog before it comes out the 1/4" outputs.
