Loud hum when plugging in stereo cord to guitar with stereo jack
So I was installing a new pickup in this Eart headless guitar. I plugged in a stereo cable from the amp and there was a super loud ground hum.
Why stereo cable? It's what was lying around and it's usually not an issue.
To my surprise, the jack in the guitar was stereo and the ground was actually wired to the ring instead of the sleeve.
Not hard to fix, but thought I'd post this for the future. For a bit I thought I'd gone brain dead or screwed up the wiring somehow.
