There are even 12β subs (that obviously donβt have the same specs as a 15 or a 18 (or a 21β)..
..but all these sizes (and more) are available from different manufacturers, it boils down on what you (the client) need in terms of size (restraint), SPL, distortion and low frequency extension.
I do agree that most brands offer an 18β these days, but as said not everyone does use off the shelf stuff nor the client need forcely an 18β.
SPL is not the only parameter that plays a role in a sub.
The OP uses a (nice) small 8β coaxial loudspeaker, the company who built that paired it with a 15β subβ¦
So the Seeburg 15β is actually a pretty good fit imho.
