New song I wrote and played every thing but drums and main guitar solos
it's approaching final mix. Would appreciate anything a fresh pair of ears might hear mix wise before I release it. Thanks

omg that is not insulting anyone holy shit are you sensitive. it was a joke. Also have to strongly disagree it is easier to hear some frequencies with a 96/24 wav than it is with a 128 bitrate mp3. but I get it some people cant' be bothered to downloaded the wav. that's why there is both options.

so, i'm seeing a really hot master, too hot for my taste, at about -6.97 average,
but it does sound smooth.

peaking around 1.6khz, i'd look at that area, and maybe a bit more high end rolloff starting at about 5k and up to 13k.

I've never mixed this style of music, so... probably not the right person to critique or give advice....
but I'd probably turn down the bass 0,5 or 1db max or do a very slight dip around 100hz and pull up the drums a little, especially the Bassdrum.
you may be aware that a lot of the guitars disappear when listening in Mono, since they are panned very hard to the sides.

This is great advice thank you didn't consider the mono issue

Thanks never heard of april wine will give a listen. Will also move the limiter down a bit. It seemed close to modern reference tracks

Yes, you don't have to make your music sound as bad as everyone else.

Balance is quite good, just a bit mushy as others identified.

While this is not the style I listen to I think it is a catchy tune and it sounded professionally done to my ears. I'm not a pro so I do not have the ears of the others who have commented but I was impressed nonetheless.
