Box-shaped furniture as corner absorbers between wall and floor as
Hi,
I'm thinking about building a DIY corner absorber for my studio β something like a wooden storage bench or box-shaped unit that sits in the corner on the floor. It would be built strong enough to place things on top, or even sit on it if needed, though sitting isn't really required in my studio. The main idea is to make it look and function like a piece of furniture while actually serving as a bass trap filled with porous material.
I havenβt found any pictures or examples of this kind of build online. Has anyone here made something similar?
Did you take any measurements to see how effective it is?
Do you know of a photo gallery of a DIY project like this on gear space or somewhere else?
Naturally, the construction needs to be solid β especially the top panel β so it can support weight. That means some mid and high frequencies might be reflected rather than absorbed, but lower frequencies should still pass through into the absorber. To be effective at those lower frequencies, the corner trap needs a decent amount of volume and absorption material.
