I have an MS2000B and use the Studer plugin to fatten it up. In fact the two plugins I use the most are studer (I use it instead of limiting most of the time as I don't hard limit much and this gives me soft tape saturation instead). The other one I use a lot is the Pultec Pro. It took me a while to get used to it as it's laid out differently from other EQs. I can get a really expensive sound on a song using the Pultec.
I use Ampex on the master buss most of the time.
Tape echo can be used instead of a reverb to add character and groove to a track. Or for FX. I use the RE201 a lot. I don't use the reverbs much, I prefer other plugins.
I own about 2/3 of the plugins? I find them so useful if I'd known I was going to buy so many I prolly should have started with a bundle. But then again I didn't buy anything I don't want or use so I don't know of I'd be better off.
thank you so much.
may i ask why you would use a limiter in a track?
I'm quite good at recording/mic placement/getting it sounding right without any editing. so just source-mic-preamp.
but mixing is something i'm still learning
