To sum it up:
- If it is outdoors - DON'T do it
- If someone can bump into the stand - DON'T do it
- If someone could pull a cable - DON'T do it
- If anyone could be hit, when the speaker is falling down - DON'T do it
...and NEVER put it on stage (possibly close to the edge).
If you NEED to get it high, there are SAFE ways to do it - but those are not done with a tripod.
Here is some "math" for you.
LightmaXX - LS-4000 PRO can carry up to 85kg officially.
1 x DZR12 is 21kg.
I have used this setup 100's times out door, indoor, on slopes no problem.
I have used the same crank stand with 90kg for a 4 day festival. No worries.
