I'd personally consider it a benefit to the universe if Bette Midler's vocal (and smpte) were transferred off the Wind Beneath My Wings single....trashcan the entire basic track (dx7, linndrums or whatever they used, synth pad crap...including the f***ed reverb settings)....

and rebuild an instrumental track with real drums, real strings etc.

Her vocal track was great. The underlying track is and always has been a pile of f*** imo.

Celine Dion stuff all suffered from that 24/7....although a lot of Diane Warren stuff ended up in that dx7 factory mill so wtf.

Pet Shop Boys stuff was/is always ok for me sonically....as well as most Kate Bush (except her voice)....there's a LOT of lo-fi imperfection in Flashlights ....which worked for me.
