any word on the acoustic design?
Yeay the sofa took a while to pick. As most post mixers know, the sofa is probably THE most important piece in a studio! I mean where the hell is the director going to snore if it's not comfy enough!

In case you're looking for a similar one, this one is from Habitat.
Concerning the acoustic design, we worked with a brilliant acoustician called Camille Hamel. His acoustic design company is called
Orythie. He was exemplary in his enthusiasm and willingness to put up with me
I wanted the room to be quite "live", so that we could be closer to a movie theatre in terms of TR. I would have been very frustrated if the room was over-dampened. So we went for a TR at the top of the Dolby Atmos room calculator. The result is really amazing, and mixes breathe really well.
One important thing for me was that the layout allow for the director to always see the picture clearly, even with mixers and screens in front of him. I sketched the whole thing out in Sketchup, while designing the studio furniture (producer desks and sound editor positions), so that the director and the sound editors would have a clear line of sight to the cinema screen (which sits slightly higher than in other studios here).
