Am running OS 15.5 Sequoia. Just checked for updates in the Mac System Settings, and it's up to date. Reason I did that is because I had just downloaded latest version of Waves Central, v 15.5.5 from waves.com. And after moving the download to the Applications folder and trying to open Waves Central, got the following dialog box"

"Waves Central” Not Opened
Apple could not verify “Waves Central” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
[buttons marked "Done" and "Move to Trash"]

Anybody else having this issue? I downloaded twice, same result.

In System Settings > Privacy & Security, I have the "Allow applications from" setting as "App Store & Known Developers," so it's not limited to App Store only programs.

I don't want to ignore the warning and "Open Anyway." Seems very odd, I've never seen this before when trying to install any Waves plugins. And all I've getting from web searches on this are crickets, except for posts several years old.

Probably obvious if you read my whole post, but just in case: Subject line really should have said, "Mac OS 15.5 Sequoia blocking latest Waves Central v 15.5.5," rather than, ". . . blocking installation. . ."

It's not really an installation issue. It's that the OS won't run Waves Central after installation.

Ignore the warning and select "Open Anyway".

Seems that Waves didn't get their installers properly signed with Apple. I'd send a tech request to Waves.

I have no need to ever go to Sequoia on my 2019 Mac Pro 7.1, no advantage to it whatsoever. That machine will stay on Sonoma.

My M1 MacBook Pro IS running the latest version of Sequoia, and I am running Waves on that computer..no issues like you describe.

In "Security Preferences", after the rejection, there should be a dialog to allow it.

And yes, get them to sign it properly.

Thanks for the replies. Probably the issue is that the Mac of this topic is running Intel silicon. I should've mentioned that in my OP, sorry.

You should use "Open Anyway".
Thats what thousands of Waves users already done.

The only other option is to not install Waves.

And it is probably the same for both Intel users and Apple silicon.

There are Intel Macs and Silicon Macs. Never heard of an "Intel Silicon" Mac.

I have spent hundreds of hours (not exagerating ) on this which os dilemma. Mainly due to a self inflicted belief that the newer os would be worse for the old intel architecture because of the investment they have made into their own chips. Found Monterey to be the best of the last cycles. Set up a fresh Mac 7.1 specked out. Keeping my first one as backup. Started on Monterey - great went to Sonoma to enable Apple Vision Pro - brutal performance and buggy so was faced with rolling back and losing out on Vision Pro or going to sequoia with so many horror stories I read.

My experience is this has been the best os I have used so far - and truth be told I’m shocked! Think I’m on 15.4. Boots much faster - everything loads faster and feels faster (I know subjective but a very real feeling) vs anything previous. No bugs not even using as thunderbolt 2-3 dongle as many have reported issues with. Machine is a beast now. I would never have contemplated upgrading because of over researching if not for Vision Pro so it was a bit forced. Best happy forced accident I have had so far on my music machine.😊

Has nothing to do with intel in my experience. My waves works perfect also on waves 15 and sequoia 15.4 fully specked Intel Mac Pro. Just installed a month ago so not sure if it was fixed already. Izotope on the other hand …. Unlikely I will ever buy or upgrade anything from them in future have all the latest but the install process was an absolute nightmare - worst company on earth for a basic user experience and coding of the basics like installers. The legacy stuff like breaktweaker took hours to figure out how to get it to work and support was like …sorry don’t support that product anymore…roll back to lion you should be good 🤣🤣🤣🙈💆🏻‍♂️🤦🏻
