It was an old pc not my current system.

But it was a high end pro built PC workstation that worked perfectly with everything …. except that dodgy old NI Maschine hardware

Fortunately on my new system it works on USB 2.0 as it should.

The point I was making is USB as a protocol is not anywhere near as robust as people suppose it to be.

One socket can work and another doesn’t - one cable works and another doesn’t - and every combination of the above!

Add in hubs and people can get into a real mess quickly.

Though with my lastest pro built PC workstation and Windows 11 things seem better and more predictable.

Another shutdown, update and reboot.. Still going strong, and I tried some recording with DI guitar - all good
