Hi!

I am quite interested in these monitors. I'd like to know how loud they can go. I've read a lot about their bass extension and it seems to suit my needs.

My room is 17 x 11.5 with 8 foot ceiling and well treated. When testing K&H 310, which I know well (use them at the job in a 12 x 13 room everyday), I thought they lacked headroom and volume in my own room, which is bigger.

In their (Footprint01) published specs, I don't see the standard Max SPL @ 1m.

I produce lots of Hip Hop and Electronic music and need nice deep and clean SPL while producing and working with other people.

If anybody has access to the Max SPL @ 1m specs or experience with the
Footprint01, please let me know. Thanks.

if you use sensitivity + max power consumption it gives theoretical 121db at 1 meter but i doubt it goes that loud my guess would be 110-115 per pair

I just blasted mine and measured 115 at 1 meter. I could've gone louder but my ears couldn't stand the SPL. Speakers were still clean at that level.

Barefoot does not publish SPL specs.
[Because some ridiculous excuse about specmanship; ridiculous because they publish other specs which can/are gamed just as bad. Meanwhile, SPL numbers are easy to define.]

What frequency response? Is that 2 speakers or per speaker? Is that peak or RMS? Is that C weighted, A weighted, or unweighted?

Have to put numbers in context.
The standard uses banded pink noise. That low band is often cut-off at 100Hz or so because the room plays too much a part lower than that.
Sometimes lower frequencies are given as a different spec in 2pi space. You can measure that without a chamber by putting the speaker firing upwards (on its back for side-firing) in an open space like outside.

One speaker. Z-weighted. I guess my test was completely non-scientific. I just blasted a bass-heavy track thru 'em. Sorry if I was no help.

I've had mine for a year. IMO they can get quite loud and the bass to me, is tight.

I did this for someone else in another thread. I've never had mine measure more than 100 dB at my mix position before the limiter kicked in. They aren't "loud" speakers, loud enough to ruin your ears though.

I now have the Footprint01's in my room and really love them. They are pretty loud! Even when listening to bass heavy mixes, I still have headroom left. Their detail is also amazing. This seems like a great speaker for the size and price.

Resurrecting an old thread to ask if people are still happy with the 01's. Specifically in the bass department. I'm considering them for my 12x11x8 room for mixing/producing techno. I fear the bass might be too much and un-thruthful.

too much and unturthfull in bass department would be pretty close to what i've experienced when i used my friend's studio for few weeks earlier this year. they do pretty good mids though
