thank you for testing. I haven't tried my mid-2000's Small Stone with the B Solina yet. I haven't felt the need, because its internal phaser sounds perfect. Good to know in advance that the noise level is even lower.

About the ensemble effect, I recorded a softsynth through it, but twice. Once for the left channel (as softsynths are stereo in general), and once for the right channel. The result is fantastic. It's really a good ensemble/chorus. So good that I'm thinking about getting a second B Solina, just for the ensemble effect for stereo sources. To save time and effort, not having to record twice, export the mono tracks to an editor, combine them to a stereo file, and import to DAW. And for pre-listen. I only know how it sounds after recording. With pre-listen I can judge immediately.
