Sounds like it was set as a slave and stopped receiving clock from the master. Unplugging caused it to revert back to internal clock.

Did the synth freeze completely, or just the sequencer?

Completely froze up nothing would respond not even power off switch. There was no incomming midi and it was set up to be the master clock in the chain

The Prologue occasionally seems to do this (or at least has done it in the past) as part of its attempt at automatic power off after a period of non-use. Disabling that function in the global configuration, which IMHO is the correct setting anyway, cures it. It seems the auto power off does get as far as turning off the CPUs but not as far as actually turning off the power supplies, or something like that.

Would the sequencer running as master count as use vs non use though? Im also 99% sure I disabled the autopower off before this happened . It has yet to happened again

Any tuning issues ? Got mine since yesterday and when powering on and playing first and last C on the keyboard it seems out of tune, after the tuning procedure , everything is fine

i havent had any. not more than any other synth with VCO's. they have to be tuned. temp changes. tune again. all in a days work. some people perceive those as issues but it seems fine to me.

My XD has held tune better after many sessions with it. The very first few times of use it took a warmup and many retunes. Now it takes much less. I wont speculate why but that was my experience.

Anyone know if Korg has made the midi implementation guide for the XD available yet? I don't see anything on their website.

If it works like the P6/OB-6 it keeps tuning tables based on temperature, so as it "learns" the tuning at each temperature it is able to stay in tune better over time.

It could also be the components, especialy electrolytic capacitors, "breaking in" as they're new, they'll settle down after a bit.

Your a funny guy, I'm not talking about the Midi Implementation Chart in the back of the manual that doesn't give ya much to go off of if you are trying to build say a full featured editor , I'm talking about a Midi Implementation Guide like the one they released for the Original Minilogue. Much more comprehensive.

This video changed everything for me. After the announcement I thought the XD was pretty underwhelming and limited. My opinion was based on reading Gearslutz threads. Nick has done a fantastic job in really showcasing what the XD can do and changing my mind. Sonically it destroys the DM12/DM6 in my humble opinion.

There’s a lot to learn from this paragraph...

Firstly, I recommend that you try and limit any binary views that you may conceive to zero or less. Different synths sound different. Period. No one synth “destroys” another. Thinking like this opens your world to hatred. Learn to love things for what they are.

Secondly, and most importantly... try to resist going through life listening to others’ opinions. Instead, form your own from your own experiences. If need be, spend less time in places like this.

I agree with the comment above that synths sound different. I really don't "need" another synth, I have what I consider the best equipment for me, for the music I play, with a live setup that is not complicated.

That said, The Minilogue XD has its own sound, the new features makes this synth a valuable addition to anyone's KB rig, at a budget price. I can set up the XD along side my workstation and use it for additional sounds without switching sounds on my main keyboard during a live show. Even for playing hooks and fill ins in addition to my fully sequenced songs make this a nice addition, without breaking the bank.

It's selling really well. Apparently Sweetwater sold out of their initial order and are taking orders for the next shipment of XD's.

If you watch the Sonic State review, you can see and hear how jacked he is to have that reverb built in. It is still my fav feature.

The XD is a mini that does so much and it is a poly analog. Pretty hard to believe looking back 20 years at the value with this one. I feel like it would the best first synth for most people at the moment. You can sit and starting with the presets using a lot of motion you will be excited and start ****ing around, thats the whole point.

On the Minilogue XD, what is the maximum resolution of the motion sequences you can record? If I set the sequencer to the longest note length, and I turn down the tempo to the lowest setting, what would the most rapid change be I could record into a motion sequence?

Can one of you guys who own this bad boy post some bass sounds? Really interested how versatile this machine is

Maybe this Minilogue XD Module is the precursor to a Prologue XD module???

Poly chaining two or these together is better than prologue 8 right? Why would anyone get a prologue 8 over two of these? The effects section layout, sequencer, motion controls, multi engine layout, are all tons better on the xd compared to the prologue. I own both and I realize this.

You're probably right: I think the only things that could really be better in the Prologue are the multitimbrality options and possibly(?) the signal path and filters, etc. not being digitally controlled(??), but yeah, personally I'd definitely rather have 2 of these, it's a real no-brainer...

So full size keys, no one cares? The signal path is digitally controlled on the prologue too, that's how you get presets and MIDI.

Yeah, so, uhh....what does the Prologue have going for it? Maybe they can call it a limited-edition and cancel production?

EDIT: I personally don't care about full-size keys with no aftertouch.
